Lisa Latham - Arts Academy Director

Lisa Latham has been part of the Hoover community since the fall of 1992. She graduated from The University of Montevallo with a Bachelor of Music Education and a Masters of Music. Her experience spans almost three decades of teaching music to students from preschool through college. Mrs. Latham has been a member of Hunter Street Baptist Church since 1993 and has served in various capacities on the worship arts staff, including directing choirs of every age and serving as Preschool/Children’s Choir Coordinator. Mrs. Latham has served as the Executive Director of the Alabama Music Educators Association, District Chair for the Alabama Vocal Association, Repertoire and Standards Chair for the Alabama Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association and the Director of the Young Voices Festival. She has received the Secondary Teacher of the Year distinction for Hoover City Schools as well as Trace Crossings Elementary Teacher of the Year. In 2009, Mrs. Latham co-founded the non-profit feeding ministry Grace’s Kitchen, which serves meals to those in need as a way to further the Gospel.  She currently maintains a private music studio in addition to teaching music at Trace Crossings Elementary School and serving at Hunter Street. Mrs. Latham is the mother of three daughters- Piper, 21, Emerson, 19 and Sutton, 16.
